Delete Your Account & Data
Last updated: July 2026
This page explains how to delete your LootMachi account and the personal data associated with it, across our website and our iOS and Android apps, and exactly what happens to each kind of data. It applies to the LootMachi Service operated by LootMachi.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open the LootMachi app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm.
Deletion starts immediately — there is no queue and no grace period — and there is no way to undo it. You are signed out on every device, your data is removed as described below, and your account is closed.
It runs in stages rather than all at once, and re-running it is safe: it picks up where it stopped and finishes the job. The stages are not individually reversible, though. Detaching your name from your posts happens early, so an interrupted deletion can leave you still able to sign in while your past posts already show Deleted user; running it again completes the rest. On an account with a lot of activity your browser may report a timeout before the server finishes — the deletion is still running, and signing back in will show you what is left.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email support@lootmachi.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account.” We'll verify it's you and then run the same deletion described below. You do not need an account or the app installed to make this request.
What we delete
- Your account and sign-in credentials — the email/password, Google, or Apple identifier you sign in with. All active sessions are revoked, so every device you were signed in on is signed out.
- Your profile — display name, photo, bio, first and last name, phone number, notification preferences (including your budget cap and preferred tags), and your push notification tokens.
- Your saved items and your price alerts.
- The stores and categories you follow.
- Your notification inbox — every notification we have sent you.
- Your Points Path profile — the answers behind your card and rewards suggestions.
- Your votes on deals, and your “still works” / “dead” reports. These are stored under your account ID, so they are removed outright rather than anonymised.
What we anonymise instead
Deals you submitted and comments you posted are not deleted. Other people replied to those threads and rely on them, so removing the posts would take away their contributions too. Instead we detach them from you:
- The author becomes “Deleted user” — your name and your account ID are removed from the post, and your profile photo is dropped. The post no longer links back to you and there is no profile left to open.
- The text you wrote stays exactly as written. We do not edit or scan the contents of your deals and comments. If a specific post contains personal details you want taken down, email us and we will remove that post.
- Our log of outbound clicks to retailers is de-identified — the record that a click happened is kept for retailer reporting, but your account ID is stripped from it.
What stays
- Aggregate counts that no longer identify you — a deal's vote score and comment count, its “still works” / “dead” tallies, and the reputation points other members earned from your votes. These are plain numbers with no link to you.
- Anti-abuse counters — short-lived rate-limit records keyed to your former account ID, kept so deletion and other actions can't be used to spam the Service.
- Records we are legally required to keep, and aggregated or de-identified analytics that can no longer identify you. These are kept only as long as necessary and then removed.
Timing
Deleting in the app takes effect immediately — when the confirmation returns, the deletion has already happened. Email requests are completed within 30 days of us verifying your identity. Backups are purged on their normal rotation shortly after.
